Are there any N. Illinois gunsmiths that do AR15 barrel work? I've got a post-ban Bushmaster flattop upper with a 14.5" BBL and perm. affixed nonfunctional birdcage that I'd like replaced with a working one. Anyone know a 'Smith that'll do it for a decent price?

I rebarrel AR uppers. I am not an FFL so I can not do general gunsmithing but an AR upper is not the serial numbered part of the rifle. You provide the barrel, new gas tube spring pin and flash suppressor. I'd recommend a Bushmaster Barrel and a Phantom flash suppresor. IM me.

I had an RRA with the fake A2 flash supressor and sent my upper to RB Precision.  I had him replace it with a real one and they did a really good job.

What'd it run you for the replacement?

Total cost was $104.50, but I had swapped out my front sight for a flat-top gas block.  I think without the gas block it would be around $70.00.  I drove over to them to meet them.  They're in Illinois. Really  nice people and they had a quick turn around.
