Glocks are fine by me. These days gun owners are pretty spoiled to have so many choices out there, half of them being designed as direct alternatives for those who don't favor Glocks. Speaking of which, whatever happened to Kimber's KPD?

That's it! I'm switchin' to Hi-Points!
ETA: wif dah beeeeemz! |

I carried a G23 for a couple of years. But I was never comfortable with the safety system and 1 in the chamber so I sold it and started buying 1911's.

In before the first option gets hit...
I voted to each their own. Not enough anti gock options in teh pole. |

We live on this road, according to the WA HTF active topic list

Ok then, here we go. Glocks off to a good start with their new project. http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn286/jt556/G1911.jpg It'll still Kaboom! |

with all the options availabe, how coud the OP drop the ball like that?
In one sentence, what woud Grumpys poll option look like? 'Cmon Grumpy, no comment on the new Gock? |
|
Uhoh, Grumpy's 4 paragraphs into a 6 paragraph response. I'm outa here!

I'm just glad my cock feels good in my hand.......
Oh wait a minute, was it Glock? Sir Dober ETA: Don't you have to be Knighted by the Queen or something before you become a Sir? Like Paul McCartney or whatever. |

The proper answer for me would be "The closest thing to perfect, but still needs a few "tweaks" to finish out. Regardless of the "tweaks", it's a hell of a lot closer then any other firearm on the market." Insofar as the new generation of Glocks, I like them. They have a more aggressive texture which makes a difference in poor conditions (read rain, snow, mud, anything wet or slick). Quoted:

I like Glocks, I'm looking really hard at a Glock 30 or 36 right now and have owned 3 over the years.
But I don't suffer under delusion that they are the be all end all. Might as well say that 1911's are gods gift, or that SIG rule all... There isn't a perfect pistol out there for everyone. Only Pistols that are perfect for some. |

Called it the Specter IIRC, Marcus knows, I'll have to ask next time I talk to him. |
|
Yeah, I've seen the Specter pistol you mention. It does look like a "Glockized" 1911, polymer frame, and what appears to be the Slide Lock in the familiar location in the middle of the frame............don't think it had a thumb safety, and it had no exposed hammer...........still not sure about the nature of the internals though. Quite odd.
I think WAC gave one away in one of their raffles a couple of years ago. |

Glocks are just another gun option that people have.
To each their own. |
|
Meh, they're just another gun. If you like them, great. If you don't that's fine, too. Just like ARs and AKs.
It's always good for a laugh to hear how some of the resident Glockophiles most resorted to argument in favor of Glocks is that ergonomics don't matter. |

I find it hysterical when a member that goes by 'Boomer' posts in any Glock thread.

I previously owned a 17, 19 and a 22. For some reason I could not shoot any of those worth shit. I used to rent a 23 a lot at Everett Gun Works and I could shoot that one really good. and I wanted to actually buy that one from the range except at that time I was really into 1911's and I spent every spare penny on them.
|
|
Hrumph. I was hoping someone woud post today and set the record straight about the gun that KB. I thought it was the one made in PO, but I coud be mistaken.

Glocks are perfect when taken in the right attitude, for instsnce they should absolutely be thought of as tools, not your baby. They are "Combat Tupperware" according to a Seattle Swat friend, some people love em some hate em but no one who uses them as tools hates them, that Im aware of.
