Galyans has opened in Roosevelt Field Mall. A great looking sporting goods store with ok prices. Seems to be well stocked with everything. No black rifles or pistols  but has plenty of shooting supplies and hunting gear.
Give'm a look. Maybe with local interest they will stock more ammo...........

Is it actually IN the field or on the outskirts like CompUSA?  I was wondering how prices would be, considering that everything is priced higher at the mall due to the high rents.

I bought a Marlin SS45-70 there the first week they opened, got it for $499. plus tx, which was about $50-$60 cheaper than anywhere else I saw it. BUT.............they have to get their sh*t together as far as the paperwork procedure, it takes forever, where everywhere else it takes 5 minutes

I went there this week. I only looked at the ammo prices. I was not impressed, about the same as Walmart. I did buy some 12 gauge Federal packed 150 rounds to a box. I am shooting shooting skeet in the morning. I will see how it shoots. MIKE.

I was there on their 3rd day of operation, I too picked up a marlin 1895gs.. but, I paid $450 for it. They had me waiting nearly 2 hrs to do the paperwork and when I bitched about it they took off $50.. :)

THANK GOD!  Now when my gf and I do the Christmas shopping, I'll have someplace to disappear to while she's trying on every shoe in the mall.

I didn't even ask what they were selling any 223 for, but the salesman Al said that they would be getting in the .35 Remington I inquired about.  Picked up a plastic rifle case (Docosil- sic) for 7.99 and a box of 130 Remington clays for 5 bucks.  2 full aisles of archery, a large fishing department---all in all, its now worth it for me to drive the better half there (Sunrise Mall in Massapequa sucks) and hide out in Galyans.  Should be visiting the Cabelas in eastern PA next month.

Shotgun ammo was a real bargain at $17/150 rounds!  Regularly its like $15/100, right?  They even had battle packs of 308 Port for $40, which isn't that great, but considering other stores sell it at $5+ per box, I think $40 is fair.  Anyway, the store is worth checking out for sure!

thats pretty good.  what kind of ammo  was it?  I bought about 1000 shells out at walmart a few weeks back for 29 a case of 250.  This deal seems a tad better by a dollar or two

Two friends were in Cabelas, and told me that I would blow my load (of cash) if I walked in there.  I am just waiting for the next trip to PA and make a side trip to Cabelas.

Rifles only in adjoining states I believe.

Yup.

The shotgun ammo was the same Federal stuff we've been using for the last year.

$29/250 = 1000 for $116
$17/150 = 1050 for $119

Basically Gaylan's price gets you 23 extra shells.  Which in Ray's case would mean hitting an extra 5 birds.

This place wasnt bad.  A bit overpriced on hiking socks but had a decent selection in the store.  Kayaking section had a healthy selection of boats but was pretty one sided when it came to paddles.  No high tech carbon paddles or shafts.
Gun section was lacking pistols, black rifles and even the good ole m1a.  They did have Benelli Novas for 279 each which is pretty good.
And for Vinnie, its location is on the back side of the mall.  Come in the Old country road entrance and its straight ahead to the left.  Cant miss it as it has its own huge entrance and 2 floors in the mall.  Theres a nice rock wall inside if you want to climb and also a putting area to test out ..... putters.

The biggest incentive to buy there is that if you join their "Team" you get $10 off your first purchase.  If you join every time you go there, that's lotsa money off!  You get free rock wall climbs with membership also.  Membership is free.

Don Mattingly and Dave Winfield were signing autographs at the mall. Anyone meet them?
