Anyone been there?  Anyone a member?  I think I may drive up for a look this weekend.  The facility looks great on their website.

You'll find plenty of good reviews about them here. It's kinda pricey but the facilities are clean and up to date. It can get busy on the weekends but I've never waited  more than ten minutes for a lane.

My wife bought me a membership before it opened so I guess you can call me a Founding Member

I like it. Nice facilities, lot of lanes.

Very nice facility, during the week (believe it's Tue-Thur 10-3, Fri 9-3) half price lane fees for non-members.

It's an indoor range, so it's LOUD (I'm spoiled with shooting outdoors these days), occasional guy shooting a 223/556 AR next to you on the pistol lane

Get a free target with your fees, seems relatively safe with the full length glass between you and whoever is next to you, target holder thingies are nice and easy to use.

Ammo, think you are not allowed anything steel cased (as they usually equate with there being some steel in the jacket/core).

Just down the street from Scotty P's (DNT and El Dorado, on the right), go grab a good burger and fries while you're there

Waiting 35 minutes for a rifle range lane only to be told you were bumped for a platinum member is bullshit in my opinion. Will not go back.

They are trying to have it both ways. Either you are a membership club or you are not. I imagine they would like to be a membership only like most golf clubs, but do not have enough members. 4 Rifle lanes was a mistake anyone could have seen coming.

The one time I went I got a lane, it was not working (forgot to recharge runner battery over night, and forgot to check each morning), and by the time they figured out it was not fixable, they rented all the other lanes, ignoring my request for an immediate lane change as I anticipated this.

It is better than many other places, but there is still room a lot of room for improvement and this one reason they probably cannot get all memberships sold.

Yep. This was the #1 reason I didn't buy in during the pre-grand opening membership drive. They were offering some nice veterans discounts and as much as I dislike indoor ranges it would have been nice to have a place to shoot/test/tune 15 mins from where I live.

Thanks guys.  I may stop by and take a look.  It's a bit far from my house but closer than Quail Creek.  At least it would be year-round.  Looks like $225 up front then $10 for each visit for pistol.  I can do that.

That's why i got a platinum membership.

Rifle lane at 35 an hour (w/o membership) is high and once a month visit pays for my annual membership.

I get no range fees or hourly control, though if it's busy I only use an hour

I go 2 to 4 times a month.

Also I can build a rifle or one for a friend and go test it, go home make changes and test it again and again

fyi 4 rifle lanes is way not enough, they need at least 10

I've been four or five times.  Never had a complaint, and the facility is great.  Staff has been friendly so far.

Trick to the rifle range (the two times I've been, anyway) seems to be getting there after 7pm during the week.  They've had lanes open both times I showed up.  Doesn't hurt to call and ask if there is currently a wait before you leave the house.

I completely agree .. It beats most indoor ranges I've been to in the metroplex but still could use some improvements.

I'm about to renew my platinum membership. If you got in a pre-opening or grand opening prices its worth it to renew. But its only worth it if you go 2-3 times a month and actually get to use the rifle lane.  I don't think I would buy a membership now if I had to pay the new prices. And unless they still do the 1/2 price happy hours before 3pm I'd have a hard time paying full price.  If you go during the week you shouldn't get bumped too much by members on the rifle. Weekends are pretty busy as are holidays like any other place. Members even get bumped by other members on the rifle lane when its busy... you get one hour at a time per person when its busy or if there's a waiting list.

And they do allow steel on the 100 yard rifle.. just not on the pistols lanes as of about 8 or so months ago.

ETA - and I also wanted to mention that the place really is nice and when they run sales on equipment and gear its unbeatable.. staff very nice.

I bought a membership and used the rifle lanes twice so far. You do have to wait so plan accordingly. However to me it's worth it for sighting in. Also took their CHL class which was very good. Their sales look good as well. I thought the membership was worth it for the money.

I happen to work there as an instructor/gun sales/range officer/range counter person.  It's nice to see all of the positive comments.  As some have said, we do need 10 rifle lanes.  The bumping of people is not something any of us like to do, believe me.  If you are a platinum member, you can make reservations for rifle lanes(a must) and pistol lanes(a must on Saturdays, sometimes Sundays if you don't want to wait).  If any of you happen to be in, feel free to introduce yourselves to me as a fellow Arfcommer.  My name is Mike and I carry either a Hi Power or my CZ 85 Combat(with pimpin gold grips).

Is it owned by the same ass-hats that have Bullet Trap?  Wouldn't put a foot in the door if it is.

Yes they bought BT and opened Frisco as well, not the original BT owners

Also, BT is a totally different place. fyi Frisco membership works at BT, but not the other way around.

My friend has a BT membership, so I go with him occasionally.

do you happen to know when bullet trap changed ownership? I'm curious because I had a rather seriously bad experience in 2008 and I've always held it against them when shopping for stuff. Regardless of them having a decent price.

Not really.  Scottsdale Gun Club, where I used to shoot, had a whole section carved off for it's "Titanium" members.  They had their own lanes, lockers, lounge.  The 30 lanes in the front were for members.  Non-members could shoot, but couldn't reserve a lane.  Members could reserve 24 hours in advance.  It's incredibly easy to tier members.  FGC just seems to have thought they could charge platinum prices and have those people share the lanes with the normal members and non-members.

The owners cribbed a LOT from SGC.  You'd think they would have picked up on the whole "If you have a top tier, you set aside a piece of real estate for them" not bump the plebes who only want to pay a couple hundred a month.

Not sure, but I think late 12 or early 13.

BT does sell cans and have some in stock. FGC sell cans now too, but not in stock, they have to order them
getting my octane45 from them.
