Well....mostly free.  At TDSA, NTIDPA members get to shoot IDPA matches for free until January 2005, non-members pay $15.  NTIDPA membership fees are $25/yr.

This is actually quite a bargain, most other places charge at least $20 per match and then you also have to pay the range fee which is from $10-$15.  TDSA offers 5 bays where you can shoot 180º, sometimes the matches will use the shoot house as a stage.  Often, the match director will have side matches after the main match is complete.

Soon there will be all weather/year round parking, the new parking lot is going in very soon(all the meterials are on site and the volunteers are scheduling to help lay it down).  New bays are being planned.  All but one of the current bays now have overhead cover.

Currently the schedule for the range is in question.  There was significant flooding in the area and we'll have to wait for the owner to decide whether or not the range is good to go for Sunday morning.

The match for August 1st has been cancelled.  The area had 13" of rain Wednesday night, it needs time to dry out.

The next IDPA match is scheduled for August 21st.

TDSA will be having a match at 10am, Sunday, Oct 3rd.  Again, it's free for NTIDPA members, $15 for nonmembers.

Most of the flood damage has been repaired, the bays did remarkably well, the classroom didn't, but that's being addressed now.  You may want to bring a folding chair with you.

This is a great opportunity for new/novice shooters that have not done pistol competition before and a nice tuneup for those going to Gunstock and the Tiger Valley 3-gun match.  IDPA requires mainly stock production pistols, very few alterations are allowed, such as sights.  The rules do not allow full on race guns and limits loading of magazines to only 10 rds.  There will be experienced shooters there that would absolutely be delighted in helping you.  The equipment required will be a good safe holster (no shoulder, crossdraw or small of back holsters allowed), a way to carry at least 2 magazines (a pocket will suffice, but will hinder your reloads), a jacket or vest to use as a concealment garment, and as always eye and ear protection.

Here is a link to NTIDPA and the page has a link to a map, TDSA is located between Segoville and Ferris, east of I-45 off of Malloy Bridge Rd.
