I will going to MN nest year in late May with family and was thinking about doing some fishing and now see that you have a opener date for fishing.  I get that part but what I don't get is there are different dates for different fish.  How dose that work if say walleye is open but not bass so I fish for walleye but get a small mouth bass?  Is it just C&R or what.

Thanks

Rusty

Dpmmn is right.  The dates are different due to the different spawning times.  For example, muskies spawn later than pike usually.  It has to do with the water temps.
