Due to the flood of e-mails, lots of phone calls, and internet postings concerning handgun courses, our staff has attempted to assist all in obtaining the proper training to meet their CCW requirements.  We support and have always supported the right to own and carry firearms.  Keep in mind that our May & June calendar has already been booked for months, so I am asking extra of our staff.  After all sleep is over rated, and you will get plenty when you're dead, right???

Defensive Edge is offering the following Handgun-1 courses in addition to our regular calendar dates.  This is the same course we have always offered, and we will update any new content as necessary to meet the new legal changes.  

These additional courses will be offered to all who pre-register for a discounted price of $75, our usual price is $110.  This is the only time we will make this offer and it is first come first serve basis, as class size is limited and books up fast.  So to take advantage you have to get to our website and get the proper paperwork submitted to us ahead of time.  We will only hold your spot with pre-registration.  All courses will be at our home based range in Princeton MN, and start at 0800hrs, and will be approximately 8-hrs in length.

Keep in mind that we are not a CCW credential farm.  Our courses are based on teaching shooters and are not just simply lecture and shooting a qualification.  Each attendee will spend a full day on the range, and shoot about 300rds.  We believe in teaching people to shoot and shoot well, as well as legalities of carry and force options.  So it is important to come to our courses to learn, and bring an open mind.

The May 30th course if full, and the June 11,12 are just about full.  As far as brushing up, just come as you are, we prefer not to have to break too many bad habits if possible.  Our day starts at 08:00AM and runs into mid afternoon.  Roughly 1-2 hours of lecture, and the rest of the day is spent shooting.  Roughly 200-300rds of ammo.  Only belt or thigh rigs, no shoulder rigs or crossdraw holsters due to range safety concerns.  I would highly suggest if one is shooting a .357mag that they might consider some light .38cal target loads for the bulk of their ammo, as 300rds of .357mag coupled with a long stiff trigger pull can be work if you are not used to it on a regular basis.  I will attempt to get some more dates on the calendar soon, we are filling up fast.  Please check with us for available spaces and get registered to hold your spot.
