That is friggin cool man! Im not sure Im ready for a chip at this point but when I am Im heading your way. So what does the setup run to allow the remote start etc with the RFID in hand?

Very cool, and a bit spooky at the same time.
I recall reading about this technology a few years ago, on a email subscription that I've since lost, (RCFOC- Rapidly Changing Face of Computing), that IIRC was being develpoed in Puyallup WA. It was presented in a somewhat pessimistic form, indicating the privacy risk implications of course. The way I remember it, it was intended to be used in office buildings and such, to provide security in a keyless environment. It also went in to retina scans, bluetooth, and such, but my memory isn't good enough to give much detail. This is a pretty cool application though. I need to figure on getting set up with a remote starter for my next rig.... 1GR has it and I've always thought it would be ideal for warming up the rig in the mornings.

meh.... been starting the rigs without a key or a starter for years, it does require parking on a hill though overwise you have to push real hard and jump in the rig real quick.

It was the most fun vehicle I have ever driven but so impractical that it had to go, I replaced it with a new Xterra SE Super Black package that I really like, do you do suspension work on those?

Very impressive.
Still, he had to enter the vehicle to use the 'kill switch'... It reminds me of the automated sinks...or toilets...that come on or flush whether you want them too or not. You might be picking your nose or looking for spinach in your teeth, but the damn faucet starts spewing water whether you want it to or not...sometimes rather spasmodically. Quite amusing and irritating at the same time. Just a few steps away from '666'.  |
