I’m pleased to announce that Operational Skills Group is coming to Ripon Rifle and pistol club.
Operational Skills Group is a California based company which specializes in teaching the integration of defensive tactics and firearms use to federal state and municipal agencies. They do so by utilizing recognized experts from around the world. Because of this they can offer training in the latest tactics that are in use by our countries most advanced operators.
We are fortunate to be able to offer a Close Quarter Carbine (CQC) course which the first of a series of classes we hope to offer.
The instructors are Tim Lau of the Gunsite Academy and Benjamin Salas from Operational skills group.

Specifically designed for those concerned with the ability to handle real-world threats at conversational distances, this course provides the training solution necessary to secure dominance. The first is a series of course this builds into a course which is far from “square range” mentality. This outstanding program includes specialized training in CQC Carbine, retention, and counter retention; it stands boldly apart from any other programs as it includes both live fire and defensive tactics training.
Attendance is limited to the first 20 individuals.

Tim Lau (CA)
Mr. Lau is an Operational Skills Group National Training Team member and an adjunct instructor at the world renowned Gunsite Academy. He currently is employed full-time as a sworn police officer and rangemaster for the Downey Police Department in Los Angeles County. He is an FBI certified Firearms Instructor and holds certifications from Morgan Consulting and Firearms Training Associates in the use of pistols and carbines. He is a certified NRA Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, and Personal Protection Instructor. Lau, a graduate of the Surefire Institute is certified to instruct Low Light Tactics as well as being a Simmunition FX Certified Training Supervisor/Instructor.

Benjamin Salas (WI)
Benjamin Salas is a full-time law enforcement and military trainer who works for the Operational Skills Group, LLC/ Contact Defense Division. He is tasked with the development and implementation of operational skills to state, federal, and international accounts. Salas is currently certified by the State of Georgia P.O.S.T. as a Detention (Jail) Officer, Peace (Police) Officer, General Instructor, and Specialized Instructor (Defensive Tactics). He has instructed on both a domestic (local, state, and federal) and international level. Recently, his instructional skills have been utilized by agencies within the Department of Justice, Department of Defense, and the Department of Homeland Security.
