CHICAGO, Aug. 21 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The following statement was released today by the Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA):
On August 20, 2003, Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich signed ISRA-supported House Bill 1096 into law. The new law allows the use of certain handguns to hunt deer during open season.
The ISRA welcomes the new law as it will greatly enhance the outdoor experience for thousands of Illinois citizens. Furthermore, the new law will act to dispel half-truths about handgun use and will work to legitimize handgun use for lawful purposes.
---
The ISRA is the state's leading advocate of safe, lawful and responsible firearms ownership. For over a century, the ISRA has represented the interests of over 1.5 million law-abiding Illinois firearm owners.

I go hunting every November in IL.
We go up to Montgomery County, which up to now, never had a hundgun season.
We already have our tags, will we be able to use our shotgun tags to handgun hunt this season?
I'm really excited about using a .44 to hunt deer !
