Buy white box Winchester from Walmart. It's not loaded quite as hot but I have found it to be more accurate than XM193.

Wait for the next gunshow or do as IB suggested. Basically, there is no good place in the valley to buy XM193

Thanks I just went over to Walmart and bought a bunch of the Winchester 55grn.

... We should do a group buy on 20,000 rounds or so. Could get a break that amount. Shooting season is right around the corner for us.

Anybody know of any ammo wholesalers? I happen to have a state issued tax number for resale.

I'd be in on a volume buy, but it's have to be less than some of the online deals.

20k rounds is not much of a "group buy."   I've not seen XM193 in a while.  200k rounds is where the price begins to break enough to make it worth the while.  That's right at 4 pallets if I recall correctly.  I sold off some of the excess ammo I had over the last few months, some to Albob, some to garryowen, treetop and sinistralrifleman.  I've still got quite a bit but I'll probably buy some more around the time of the SAR show here.

Natec is supposedly fixing or have fixed their ammo.  I've not fired the new batches but it's sure a lot lighter, save on freight as well.

Randall's @ 51st Ave and Olive has XM193 for $95 per 500.

Miwall usually has it for around $75 per 500 if you can wait for another gun show.

I paid $82 for 10 boxes of the "40 round value pack" Winchester 223 55.gr at the walmart next to Scottsdale Airport. It will get me through the weekend but im in for a group deal on a couple cases of XM193.

This might sound like a stupid question but since we are on the topic of ammo I thought I might ask so here it goes.

When I look around at parts to build a rifle I see caliber offerings of .233 and 5.56 Nato. I know that these two calibers are similar but not identicle. Are they interchangable or is just one interchangable with the other but not the other. IE is 5.56 Nato chamber interchanable with the .223 round but the .233 chamber not interchangible with the 5.56 Nato round.

I see in Timeless first post he was asking about the XM193 Ammo but ended up buying .223 rounds

[#11]
The 5.56 chamber has a bit longer headspace and a longer lead or throat. 5.56 ammo is loaded to higher pressures than .223. 5.56 ammo in a .223 chamber will eventually cause problems. Usually extraction problems.

I had a DPMS M4 barrel with a .223 chamber that would not shoot XM193. We eventually fixed it with a reamer.

Always get a 5.56 chamber in autoloaders.

That's a great idea, WW.

Count me in - although I'd prefer M855 to the M193 stuff...

... I'd still be willing to look into this but as zukem mentioned, there would hardly be a break. I just don't know. I did however find XM193 for $179/1000 today at Sportsman's Guide

Last time I was at Outdoorsman on Cave Creek north of Dunlap they had Q3131A for $3.50/box.

Sports Authority used to have Q3131A, but I was there a while back and the store was selling a lot of gun stuff off, so I don't know if they still sell that ammo or not.

I'll look around at wholesalers and see what's hot right now.   Unless we can hit 200k rounds, Miwall is going to be the best price most likely.

We only need 100 people to commit to 2,000 rounds each.

I did the same thing.  The only thing is mine came in 2 500 round loose packed boxes.  Not 20 round boxes.  Didn't really matter to me.  Good stuff still.
