Anyone know of any gunsmiths that do barrel threading on a .22 for a suppressor without a long wait time?  I'm in the fox cities.

Thanks,
Kevin

I mail all my stuff out to Mr McWillis at the The Riddle Of Steel (TROS).

TROSUSA

We used him extensively for .mil stuff, he comes beyond highly rated in all communities.

I have used him with all my LEO and Gemtech stuff recently as well.

Nobody will have his reputation and skill (this is why you won't get a baffle strike from his work).

Flamethrower did a pretty good job on my 92fs, I wouldn't hesitate to use him again for my threading needs.

I assume Flamethrower is WI?

Yup, Hustisford.  A little south of you, but he has done some very good work.  He has one of my 1911's right now

Todd (Flamethrower) did an excellent job with my odd-ball suppressor threading job (K-31 with a 762 Phantom QD).  Price and service can't be beat, either.

What was the wait time?

From Todd?  I don't know if it was more than a few weeks from when I dropped it off to when I picked it up.  IIRC it was only about a week.

His response times picked up? I know he does good work... i own some of it. But I heard rumors that he had slowed down production, and/or taken time off.

I talked to the gunsmith over at Nelson Tactical in Green Bay a while back and depending on the work load and dependent on the firearm it could be the same day.  http://www.nelsontactical.com/shopping/

They don't do threading anymore.  From what the guy I talked to was telling me.  I think a customer said (I'm not sure whose fault this was) that they messed his barrel up from threading it and demanded a new barrel or something along those lines.  And the owner doesn't want to deal with that anymore- so no more threading barrels @ Nelson Tactical.

Just can't seem to find a place without a longer wait time.

You'd have to call. You know how rumors are.

I know with the .mil stuff we sent in, there was not one or two items but scores...

Flamethrower did a barrel for me. Good work and he got it done before I expected it to be done.

Double J in Pulaski cut, re-crowned and threaded an AR-10 for me. Think it took about a week.

(715) 851-3755

He's right across the street from the burned out bar.
