Years ago I lost a job for stopping at medical call that I had to drive past on my way to work. I was a volunteer Firefighter/EMT-B at the time. I heard the call go out over the 2-way radio in my truck and knowing I was less than a block away I figured the 30 second response time would be appreciated. It was, by everyone except my employer at the time, which was a....hospital.
So, thanks for this one Sen. Russel and maybe someone won't have to go through what I did about 10 years ago.
