Had a buddy just get denied for a 5320.20 to bring an SBR for a competition. It was a 9mm with 9" barrel and 28.75" OAL.

Big red stamp that says "DISAPPROVED. VIOLATION OF STATE LAW".

I haven't found anything that would imply it's not legal. My only guess is the examiner thought it was for MD instead of MO. He handwrote it and I thought it said MD. They have a 29" minimum OAL, so he would've been 1/4" too short.

But, it did have a city and ZIP, so surely they could've double-checked it...but maybe they didn't?

Is there anything weird that would've caused him to be in violation of state law? I have a copy of his form so I can answer most questions about it.

Here's the address where I thought it said MD. I did advise him to call and ask to see if that was the issue.

I agree...I would go ahead and edit that pic to just show the MD/MO part and not the full address

That's the site of the Lucas Oil Pistol Caliber Carbine World Championship in August. Not real worried about anybody knowing where the Lucas Cattle Ranch is.

(I did look it up before I posted for OpSec)

The only weird law I can think of is that you used to need an FFL to have an SBR in MO. They did away with that requirement a while back, though.

Let us know what he finds out, I'm curious about their reasoning.

Yeah, I saw that when I was trying to figure it out myself. Some people got by it with a C&R, IIRC.

He left a voice mail yesterday but hasn't heard anything. He probably needs to call back and/or email.

He got confirmation (back on the 9th) they thought it was for MD, so he resubmitted.
