Get ready for summer!
Constant triple digit temps for 3 months easily and at least one month of 115-118 degrees, be sure that the house you bought has a good A/C unit.
If it's sketchy in any way, I would replace it now, once summer hits, good luck! If the walls and ceilings insulation rating isn't as high as it can be, have them come in and add more!
Solar panels are a good idea, plus the state offers kick backs. Have enough to run the house all day with a battery back up for night time. Elon Musks company is one of the best with some kick backs of their own. Would be a good idea to check them out if needed.
You won't see your neighbors during the summer unless it's at night and the temps have dropped below 105°. I travel through there all the time and at night during the summer it's still 100+ at 2am! Even with a breeze it's still hot as the wind is 100 degrees!
Keep the RV that you bought, take the wife and head down to the coast. You can park along the Hwy or rent a space at some of the parks along the beaches. Stay there during the summer and be cool and happy.
