Why do you say the Makarovs arent great? From what I know theyre pretty slick little pieces.

2 or three GF shoots back, we were packing up, and there was a guy there with a Makarov. He asked me to try a few shots because he was having problems hitting his target. He wasn't sure if it was him, or the gun.

From 10 yards or so, I put 7 rounds into a 2" circle, at point of aim. Nothing wrong with that Makarov.

Other than rather tiny sights, its a pretty good gun. I still regret I didn't grab 2 or 3 when Wades had a big crateful.

I blew up all 4 of my AR's shooting XM855PD.

It was a sad sight indeed.

What you did do, was waste some ammo by shooting 855 out of a 1/12 twist bbl

I have also been looking at ACOG's

Despite the sarcasm above, you did indeed end up pulling out a cleaning rod and clearing a $1000+ dollar weapon from shooting substandard ammunition.

I dont think you guys who scrimp on ammo will be satisfied unitl you do actually blow one up in your hands, I just hope you dont get hurt in the process.

The thread I was telling you guys about today!

It is not much more than a .380, to small, that is a belly-gun in my book. I dont think they are "Great" but they are interesting, and something I would like to have in my collection.

At 80 yards (pit distance) I was nailing rocks with the 855 just as well as when I was using the 55 grain Winchester and the 45 grain Walmart varmit stuff.
I have shot the 855 out of the 1/12 twist barrel at 100 yards and I can get a decent group....of course there are a "couple" of keyholed rounds through the target.

Firing M855 from a 1:12-twist rifle would result in an understabilized bullet that would only fly straight for about 90 yards,

Actually that one was a $740 dollar weapon....unless you count the Eotech.
And... that was Wolf ammo, not the KABOOM855PD.

Did the same thing, with the same ammo, in the same place, later in the day. 2nd time Wolf bit me in the ass with the same rifle and it won't happen again.

Anyway, who got butt raped with a Mak? That sounds sooooo wrong.

Thanks! I'm sore from laughing so hard for the last 10 minutes. The kids are going nuts, "Dad what's so funny?" That is some of the funniest shit I have ever seen on a forum anywhere.

"I believe I'd rub my erect penis against that motherfucker's cheek." LOL Classic!

Yes, an interesting bit of history and very collectible. Im going to collect the Russian mil and E German vesion b/c I can get them on my C&R. When I was in RO all of the 'authorities' carryed them and most looked virtually unused from what I could tell.
