(sort308) After the hollidays, I will be building another black rifle. It will be a carbine with a sixteen inch barrel. I'm building it with intention of shooting in some ACTS events. Would a barrel with a 1-9 twist rate, shooting 55gr bullets be a good choice
for ACTS? I was also thinking about buying an E-OTech to mount on it. Looking for any feed back before I purchas anything.
Thanks, sort308

Sounds like a good start. We're not shooting bullseyes. We're running from point to point, shooting from behind cover, no more than 100 yards. Just make sure to get a flat-top upper not a carry-handle, more options for optics that way. Most folks run Eotechs or Aimpoints. HTH.

If all you're shooting is 55's you're safe with 1/7-1/12.  I've shot every ACTS match I've attended with a 14.5" 1/7, and I can count the matches missed on one hand without using all the fingers  ;)
