I'm guessing there were 3,000 people there.

It was a GREAT rally with good speakers up there on our behalf. I've got video of my speech (2nd to last), but am having technical difficulties with it.

Hell, I wish we had that kind of turnout in RI.

This is incredible! Some really brilliant sign designs and slogans!

I wish I could have joined (veterans 79th bday party), huge thanks to all who made it. God bless the man with the AR, righteous.

What was the atmosphere like? I hope it wasn't all "powder-keggy". Anybody chat with the officers on duty? Any general concensus on the emotion from the crowd, did it feel like we "got anywhere"?

Looking forward, how do we go bigger? We should turn some of these signs into flyers and hit the streets! When's the next rally, if nobody is going to organize this shit then lets get on it! I'm sick of waiting, our freedom is in our hands. If one guy could do this from elsewhere in the country, imagine what we can all do together in our own backyards.

I'm with you on doing this bigger and more organized, willing to help and able to print some paper 36x24 black ink only.
Tell me what you want on it...

The issue at hand is the public hearings occur before Feb. 8th, I believe if we all show up for the hearings it will have a greater effect.
We must keep the pressure on our Reps and Senators regardless of their views. Keep their phones ringing, faxes running and email servers overloaded.

I was there eagerly at 10:20am, and left like a scolded dog at 1pm.  I couldn't feel my feet, because I'm a big pussy.  I think I missed your speech, Wobblin.  I left after the teacher/rape victim advocate (who was very good).

I did get hassled by the pigs there.  We went to add money to the parking meter, and some jackbooted thug on a horse (!) ran up on us screaming "You punk ass bitches don't need to do that.  Only bitches pay on weekends."

I may have embellished that slightly, and the cops may have actually been kind of nice.

Great time...plently of like minded people.

If the decision was up to us, we'd be set, but it's up to political whores attempting to secure re-election and to be seen as "tough on crime".

Yeah, I was 2nd to last on the "official" speaking list.

I thought all the police officers there were really cool about it all.

arrived at 1:15 and stayed till the end. for a while there we had a pretty serious crowd. i was impressed. people were coming and going the entire time, but all together there were definitely a couple thousand people in and out of there at a minimum. Nice job everyone!

Not a problem. Had me a blond moment. I was looking at the pics saying "I was right near where this guy was standing!". Then I read the text at the bottom.

Ha! When we were leaving the rally my wife and I talked with the cop on the horse for about 10 minutes. He was great. We also talked with a couple of the Capitol Police and they were polite and friendly.

Media and Capital Police are severely underplaying the turnout.  My pictures do not really do much to support my conclusions though.   The only way to really get a hold of the people count of these events is to take picture of the entire crowd from above.

I heard at least two Capitol Police Officers shake a protester's hand and say "hey, I'm on your side".

Made my day.

There was a police officer taking pictures of the crowd from the second story small window balcony (left side) at one point. Bet he got some nice crowd shots.

Edit to add: Here is the officer on the balcony just before he climbs back into the window.
