My friend asked me to help him estimate the value of a luger he wants to purchase. The weapon is in fair condition with all matching serial numbers. It was brought back by a GI in 1944.

Any rough estimates as to the value would be appreciated. I will post more info if possible. Thanks

Rough estimate will be in the $600 & up ballpark.

Lots of variables in there to push it to close to $1000 as well. Shooters sell for $500 or better these days, one in good shape & a war trophy will certainly bring more than a reimport from East Germany.

I just got my second Luger, a WW2 trophy from my great-uncle, who passed away. I haven't shot it yet but I will. I love these guns!

Thanks. I know it is difficult to assign a value without more info. I did find out that it is a .30 caliber. It is in fair condition. My guess is $500 would be a generous offer.

For the buyer, yes. The seller would be losing $$$$$, IMO.

The pistol has some light rust on it. The bore is not in the best of shape, either. Thanks again for the info.
