I'm not familiar with Kimbers, but the different names have to do with barrel lengths. Government is 5", Commander is 4.25", and Officer is 3.75". I'm sure someone else will correct me if I'm wrong.

A 5inch bbl is standard aka "Government" Model A 4 1/4 bbl is a commander - Colt / S&W / Dan Wesson / Para Ord A 4 bbl is a Pro (kimber) and Champion (SA) A 3 1/2 bbl is An Officers ACP (Colt) / Ultra Compact (SA) / Companion/Ops (PO) A 3 bbl is an Ultra (Kimber) / Micro (SA) / Defender (Colt) / Covert/Carry (PO) |
