What is the smallest .45acp handgun? (size) I remember a few years ago seeing an ad for a wallet size single shot. Shooterer |

Yes, that wallet sized single shot 45ACP was called "The Downsizer". I don't know if it is made any more, or not. There is the "Semmerling" 45ACP, which is a manually-racked repeater, where you actuate the slide yourself by hand, to eject empties and feed new rounds. They are no longer made, and command high collector prices if you can find one. I think that the Detonics Combatmaster is still the smallest semi-auto 45ACP pistol made, and that was introduced in the mid-1970s. I carry one. Detonics has been recently resurrected by Jerry Ahern, and is now called "Detonics USA". No M.I.M. parts in these pistols. There are some other super-compact 45 pistols that come close in size to the Detonics, or may even equal its small size. |
