I just replaced the action spring and guide rod in my XD Service. I chose the Wolff guide rod and 21# Wolff action spring, which I ordered as a kit.

They also sent an extra power striker spring. This has me curious. Does replacing the action spring with a heavier spring require me to replace the striker spring as well? Is there some kind of issue caused by replacing the action spring that requires a heavier striker spring? Like maybe there chambering impact from the heavier spring might cause the striker to move forward unintentionally and discharge the round?

I don't know here, I'm guessing...that's why I asked.

Well, apparently not. I took my pistol to the range today and put 200 rounds through it without issue.
