I just purchased two boxes of Winchester Ranger .45SXT  (RA45T).  One box has silver cases with Winchester typed on the end of the case - no sealant.    The second box has gold cases with W-W  typed on the end of the case and a red sealant around the primer area.  The actual bullets appear to be the reqular Talons.

Why the difference in the markings,  case color and one having a sealer and the other not?   Is it possible the ones with sealer and gold case marked W-W  on the end of the case are re-loads?  I have only seen the Rangers previously in silver cases.
Thanks in advance for any info.

Absolutely not.  I have some of that ammo.

Thanks for the  response demigod.  Is the gold jacketed ammo just older?

We used Winchester Ranger 9mm as duty rounds for years before switching to .40. At first after the Black Talons were pronounced evil, the Rangers were a black bullet, primer sealant, and brass case, marked WW as you noted. Ordering the same Winchester Ranger ammo over time it started arriving with the Nickel plated cases, normal color bullets, no red primer sealant. The nickel stuff had 02 also on the case head, the year apparently. I never checked the stock #'s to see they were identical or not, and I didn't order the stuff. I don't know if the bullet itself changed significantly, or just color/coating, or how it differed from the Talon. Winchester applied the sealant pretty sloppy if I remember, but good ammo.
