I have a P30 LEM, I like it a lot and would like a smaller gun to go with it. I also like Glock a lot. What are your thoughts on the P30SK and P200SK?

Thanks!

P30sk and HK45c, V3 and V1, are my two carry guns.  I like the P30sk a lot.  The P30sk seems to be a bit cheaper than the P2000 series in my area.

You’ve got the P30 already, I’d go with the 30sk

P2000SK is a little slimmer, or at least feels that way, but the P30SK is more ergonomic.

P30 series offers the optional thumb safety, you don't have this choice with the 2000, but it sounds like you want LEM anyway.

P30 has front serrations, 2000 doesnt.

There are more choices for night sights for the P30 series than the P2000.

You already have a P30 series pistol, so the SK will feel more similar to what you're used to.

P30SK is cheaper and much easier to track down.

Mag options are more versatile for the P30SK and HK is actually blowing them out for like $20 right now anyway.

I literally can't think of a single reason I'd choose the P2000SK over the P30SK

The p2000sk grip texture is smoother than the p30sk. The grip feels thinner as well.

the p2000 is definitely less aggressive on your skin.

My EDC is a P30SKS with TLR7A.  In 30 years of carrying it has proven to be my overall favorite.  With the 13rd extended mag/sleeve it feels like a small full size.  With the 10rd flush it conceals easily.

I use to carry a P2000SK.  I prefer the texture, and rail is the P30SK.

P2KSK is slightly smaller if that matters to you, but I sold all of my P2K guns after buying my first P30 (which was actually a P30L).

P30SK

I have a P30L a P30, as well as a P2000.

I vote P30SK. The adjustable grip panels fitted to my hand.

Remember you can upgrade the mag guts with all oem HK parts and increase the capacity by two rounds in all of them as well.

I used the HK conversion kits on the 13 round mags, no problems. I used them in the USPc/p2000 13 rounders and the P30sk 13 rounders (They are the same mag body). Have been 100% for 600+ round.

I used them in the flush fitting 10 round, and with pinky extensions, and had FTExtract on both of them. It appeared there is too much upward spring pressure, and it attempts to feed a round before the spent is extracted.

When I did the guts swap I trimmed the spring a couple coils to make it match the oem spring + 1 extra coil or 2 extra coils (can’t remember offhand) and have had no issues. I can see why you might have an issue with yours if you didn’t.  There is such thing as too much pressure.

Did they work fine on your 10 rounders?

I have both the p30sk ( LEM trigger)and vp9sk.
I like the P30sk better but I have to admit I run the VP a bit faster and more accurate.   Both are excellent aside from the no RMR cuts.   Im definitely open to ditching my p365 for this new micro when it comes out.

If you’re curious as to why on earth I’d edc an sig vs the HK it’s just a matter of size.  Both VP pistols conceal well but I’ve had to adopt a tucked IWB for work and I’m thin.  I’ve had both for several years and my wife did steal the VP9sk to replace her g19.
As for the 2000sk.  I’ve held and shot one.  They are typical HK and GTG.   I would go with the other 2 just based on support unless it was a deal not to be passed up.

While I am a little late to the party, the P2000 is a nice gun but if you have a high grip with big mitts, I would pass. I had both the P2000 and sk at one time or another and always got hammer bite but they were da/sa pistols. With the P30sk, I never had that issue.

For me the planets aligned with the P30SK, I shoot it better than the many guns I have tried over the years. Your mileage may vary but I love it!

Just put a P-30SK V1 LEM on layaway this morning; The gun feels much better gun than the P-2000SK, and I like the P-2000SK

Have a P30LS and a P30L V1 converted to 4.1 CDA. Both have GG's flat trigger and SRS. the P30SK LEM is on the radar for the future. I can tell I will feel more than all set after having the three. Even with all the new hotness out there, these pistols just are it for me (Coming from Glock, which I do still like and own, but the P30L 4.1 is my main carry now). I do not miss my MRDS Glock 45 much at all that the first P30L replaced.

Hmmm….shoulda read this thread yesterday. I jumped on a buy it now P2000sk yesterday on GB. Hope I don’t come away disappointed. I mainly went after the P20000sk because it was more like a USP in my opinion. I thought a USP compact is too big for ccw.

Almost hunted down a P30sk because of its ergonomics. I bought my niece a PPQ SC last fall. And really liked how it felt when I shot it. But now they are very hard to find. Shortly after buying my niece the Walther, I bought my first H&K and have since been absolutely hooked on the brand for polymer pistols. And almost hunted down a P30sk because of it.

Guess I shall see if the P2000sk will do. Of course the only way to be sure is to hunt down a P30sk. I can see a turnover in my safe that is long overdue in the near future.

They fit the p2000sk as well. I swapped the baseplates as soon as I got them and threw them in the p2000sk.

Do you also have the 13 round mag to compare. I just won an auction for an SK and it only comes with 3 10 round mags.  I was thinking about getting a +2 round extension.

Buy the guts kit from HK. It turns the 10 into a 12. The 13 to a 15, and the 15 to a 17.

On the 10 you will need to remove 2 coils off the bottom of the spring. The kit is a oem HK made kit. It’s specifically designed for the 15 to 17 conversion however it works in the smaller mags as well.

I do not understand the draw to these guns. A P30SK is very close to the size of a Glock 19 with less capacity. Trigger is nothing to write home about, and the gun itself is very wide and heavy compared to other options in its category.

The P30sk is my Excalibur because of it's overall shootability and nearly perfect ergonomics.
It's about how it all comes together.

I can close my eyes, point the gun at something without looking,  and when I open my eyes,  the sights are almost perfectly aligned.

While shooting,  the combination of grip and excellent control placement,  makes for fast hits and reloading.

Finally,  that LEM trigger.
The best CCW trigger out there.
