I picked up a new, unfired Browning Hi Power for $350. It is in a grey plastic box, has two magazines and is stamped on the slide: "Made in Belgium Assembled in Portugal"

thanks,
Ron

When most new made in Belgium Browning Hi Powers are selling for well over $600, and the last few used ones I had seen at local gun shops were in the $425-$450 range, I would say you got a good deal.

That is a great deal.

OK.... well the guy has two other pistols for sale. He has a HK UPS in 9mm and a SIG 228 in 9mm. Both of the weapons have been fires a few times but not many. These are from his collection and I know this to be the truth.

He is asking $500 each for these. Is that a fair price?

thanks,
Ron

I just let a lightly used Sig 229 go for $495, not sure what the HK is worth. This is one of the on line dealers that I use to look up a fair price when purchasing new,

if it was me I would feel 25% off a new gun price would be fair for a well kept lightly used gun.

I paid $399 for my new HP (which is the same as yours Dr. Cheney) back in '96...

$350 is a STEAL!

Also, I'd be happy to pay $500 for either a slightly used USP or 228....but then again, I also live in CA

SIG P228s are almost impossible to find now.  If you can swing it, I would buy that pistol from him also.  $500 is a very competitive price.  The P228 is one of the most desirable SIGs.

what about a 226? I have another friend that has that one for the same price after I told him about the 228. I kind of like the 226 better but am curios about the cost of it being the same as a 228????

thanks,
Ron
