This question is entirely subjective, based on your personal experience.  What is the WORST handgun you have ever seen or used?

Probably the very first one I ever bought. They had just came out with the gun and the round.
Tauras PT100 .40.
It ate everything there was but it wouldnt hit the broad side of a barn from 5 feet. Second gun I ever bought was a Sig P226 9mm. That was like going from a Toyota to a Hummer.

Hawes single action western style .44 magnum.

Spit lead so bad it was dangerous in 3 directions.

Maybe that's why Hawes is absent from gun making now.

Toss up between my BHP and G35.

Dave S

And maybe my Kimber Custom Eclipse with its series II safety.  Just da-da-damn.

Dave S, that is Browning Hi-Power and Glock 35?  Why are they bad pistols?

My bad handgun is a Eupropean American Armory Bounty Hunter in .22LR/Magnum.  The Ejection Rod will not insert into the chambers anymore, even though I can't find anything out of alignment.  Nothing is bent, everything is square and proper, the cylinder doesn't drag.  I don't believe I will buy such a low cost firearm again.

After well over 30 years playing with guns, I have a list. Thank god most are defunct now. The little chief size Security Industries in .357 didnt even use a box of ammo before it bent. Sterling made a small .22 that when it did feed, it missed at 4 feet! A model 59 S&W that shot 6 feet low. A Jennings .22 that would go off by merely chabering it. A S&W model 17 with a crooked barrel. Any Clerke revolver, dry firing shatters the hammer! There were more, just poopy, not quite the worst.

Dad bought and Intratec-22 about a decade ago.  It looked like a fun pistol for plinkig since it was heavy and could hole about 15 to 20 rounds in the mag.  Well lets see, the gun jammed on every ten rounds and after 30 rounds every two.  The mag well later cracked.  This is by far the worst pistol I have ever shot.

A little jennings 22. A guy I worked with had one he couldn't get to shoot.I took it, cleaned it ,and went to the range. Had to smack the back of the slide after each shot to get the next round in the chamber. Didn't matter what ammo I used . Told him sell that POS or he use it as a paper weight.
Mrs. caveman bought a Firestar 9mm from my brother. After a couple shots the mag. would drop out of it...and that little thing weighed a ton. Glad I got rid of it.

I worst I've owned and was glad to get rid of a S&W Sigma .40.

Fortunately I didn't buy them but the worst I've ever seen were the Wyoming Arms 45acp, and anything by Loricn/Jennings/Byrco. Thos little 22LR AR-lookalike by Armscor were also POS.

New England Firearms .22 revolver.
I traded an old weed whacker for it.
I can't remember what I did with the POS.

AMT Break-Up, especially the DAO .45 version.  And people stake their lives on this POS?  Maybe it would make a decent club.

Davis Derringer.  Although only .22 caliber, it boasts a trigger pull that would strain Ahnold, and is well on its way to shooting itself to pieces.

Hawes Montana Marshal .22 single action revolver, especially with its amazingly sturdy zinc construction.

Rogak 9mm, I saw one at the place I used to work.  The front sight was mounted on the "barrel bushing" and you could twist it from side to side.  People who actually shot them had the bushing fly off after a few rounds!  It also was large enough to be crew served. The only redeeming property this pistol had was it held like 19 or twenty rounds.

S&W Sigma 380

Should have been labeled "Jennings" or "Bryco'

Jennings .22. Someone actually recommended (wasn't way I bought it btw) that POS because
they said it would be more effective to land all 6 rounds (low recoil) into a small area than one good hit with a .45 or whatever. LOL!!!!!

LOL because someone said the Jennings is an effective defensive weapon.

Glock 19, but hey I just don't like Glocks.  Truely a Ford vs Chevy thing.

A friend had a Ruger Blackhawk in .30 Carbine, it couldn't group worth anything.

Mine was a EMF .22LR/22Magnum that had trouble with the ejector rod . I guess you get what you pay for.

Without A Doubt the worst hooking I ever got was the now defunked Browning BDM. Thanks for publishing that silent recall on that firing out of battery problem Browning....John Moses must be rolling over in his grave after that one.

The worst handgun I've ever owned or used was a S&W Sigma .380.  It was a complete waste of money and a POS.  It was too light to use as a boat anchor so I had no choice but to trade it in towards a Beretta 92FS.  I tried to trade it in at McDonalds for a Big Mac meal but they don't do trades.

A long time ago I had a S&W 9mm (3rd gen). I hated that fucking pistol.

I have Sigmas in both 9mm and .40

They are both picky about their ammo, but once you know what they like ... use it!

Both are very accurate, and reliable.  I know, Iknow, I know a semiauto should not be picky about ammo, but that is the case with the Sigma line.

Just because some Bushmasters, Colts, Armalites, do not like Wolf, it does not mean the gun is bad, nor the design faulty.  Just somethign you learn by trial and error.

YIKES! I have a Bersa .380.  Series 95!

This is the first complaint I have heard about the gun.

Hey Muddled Thinker, I don't know how old you are but back when I was first breaking into guns in about 1975, some mag ran a *hilarious* Chuck Taylor review of the Rogak.  It was funnier than hell and ended with a pic of Chuck about to throw the gun.

Chuck is, IMHO, a pompous ass, but he did gain my respect for unmercifully bashing a junk gun in print.

i think highly of a few guns listed! and i agree with almost all that has been said. the only gun i found to be worst than the lorcin/jennings/bryco/davis class of crap would be the GRENDAL! now that is a p.o.s. for sure!   on the other hand. i have had only good service, and no jams from my S&W 380 sigma. and the same from my AMT .45 cal back up. i just cant beat the glocks! own 4, and i always have one on me.

I shot one of those things. The first two shots touched in the x ring, the next stayed on the target and the last ones hit the hill behind the target. That thing could kick like the dickens. Near the end of the first box I tamed the thing again and could hit the target again.

I would cast my vote for the Intertec 22 too. I didn't buy one but my shooting partner had one. The damn thing could go full-auto just by pulling the trigger too slow.
