I found a used Kimber 1911 pistol for $450.00 and want to know if Kimber is a reliable gun and if the price is reasonable. The gun has a stainless slide and, I think, an alum-alloy frame. The gun has a 4" barrel, if I remember.

YES!
depending on the condition.
What model?

It's probably a Stainless Pro Carry. If it is Series 1, hell yeah... series 2, still a good deal.
Kimbers are pretty much made with match parts, you'll find no better trigger.

check the frame for any gouging if it is in fact an aluminum frame.
If everything's kosher you better jump on it.
Kimber's are good pistols.
I just sold a Kimber Stainless TLEII with ~3-5k rounds through it for $575. (just to give you a ballpark).

See if you can shoot it before you buy and if it performs, BUY IT!
