I bought 3 SIGs in 1996 or 1997. 226 228 and 229.  SIG was running a crazy promotion-a case of ammo with each pistol.  The gun store in San Diego let you choose--full price and keep the ammo or the shop kept the ammo and discounted the pistol.

Where did you order those screws from? Went to TJ's site and the only thing I found for ordering parts stated to send him a letter with cash or MO?

So I did find his stuff on e-bay but didn't realize that was him because "TJ's Custom" isn't listed in the description and the pics in the ebay ad don't look like the pics on his site.

Anyway, thanks

So this thread has me thinking about selling.  I have a commercial P229 in .22lr and a .40 cal top end I bought separately.  I think I bought it in around 2018 and I'm wondering what I should ask for it?  I don't really carry it, and have not shot it in a while.

One way I use to determine the current value of a firearm is to check the "Completed Items" listings on GunBroker.com.  Do an advanced search on your chosen weapon and then sort the results by "Bid Count: High to Low".

All sig pistols outside of the SIG Pro are "P series."

You're looking for what SIG has designated "classic series".

And all handguns are in demand right now. Considering 9mm handguns and ammo are virtually impossible to find, demand sifted towards inexpensive and easy to find 40 which then pushed the prices up.

ETA: those claiming its because of the German quality, most of these PD trade ones are American built. It's been 26 years since SIG moved to America.

I have a few Sigs that are “frame made in Germany” that are less than 10 years old. Or are you just referring to guns entirely made in Germany?

The USCG 40 DAK with barcode etched on I sold , I had a guy keep after me for it and I finally gave to him for 850 cash and a new in box Les Baer 1911 Hard baller 45 . I still have the ICE gun every thing s the same except in 9mm , it was a over run from same time I had the 40 . never saw them for sale any place since .

I bought 3 used Sigs from Wideners some time ago (actually early 2011).  2 P-6s and one P226.  At the time, Customized Creationz was having a 1-11-11 sale on refinish work.  I got all 3 refinished in 2 tone (including controls, etc.), put wood grips on both P-6s and new OEM grips on the P226 which I already had.  The P-6s were $379 each and the P226 was $425.  All 3 are beautiful guns!

My small Sig P-series collection.  I was only able to afford them due to the Sig LE discount program.

Prices for P Series Sig Sauer are completely out of control. In February I was able to snag this barely used P229 off of Gunbroker for $580. Since then prices are so expensive that DAK’s going for $400 USD are close to $700 USD.

I wanted to make it as close as Sig Nightmare series
(1) TJ Customs polished barrel, polished short trigger, bobbed polished hammer, and polished grip screws.
(2) Gray Guns Fat stainless guid rod, Fat Mainspring/Strut System, and SRT Kit
(3) Sig Sauer X-Ray night sights and Nickel controls

Got my  Hogue Extreme aluminum grips and just put them on; man, these grips are night and day compared to plastic grips from Sig

Really fellas? Just to make a few hundred bucks?

Unless Im jobless, need food or the guns value has trippled in price I aint sellin shit. To many times over the years Ive looked back and said "damn wish I hadent sold that."

1 ie; in the 90s had a 6" python and anaconda. Got them used for $5-600(?). Gorgeous guns. Never imagined they'd go out of production in 5yrs. Now 22yrs later they're going for $1500ea!

At best always trade up.

I traded a P220 for my first 9mm P226 ten or so years ago, beginning my P226 addiction.

Picked up this NIB P226 SSE 9mm in a trade yesterday.

A local guy wants to sell me a 229 9mm elite enhanced (not German) for $950.  Nice pistol and I'm out the loop, but the price is holding me back.

Was able to snag another Sig P229 .40 S&W DAK for $500 USD. I hate the DAK a trigger, but have all parts to convert back to DA/SA.  I  also have  an extra Secret Service .357 Sig overrun that I am going to install on it after I get back my classic 1995 slide to be returned from Wright Armory. The slide had the NP-3 finish from Robar back in 1999, and was showing its age from sitting in a duty holster. Wright Armory is redoing the slide in Armorlube and barrel and guide rod in NP-3+ (Wright are the new owners of NP-3 since Robar went out of business)

Bad time to rekindle my Sig P series classic buying spree; first a lightly used 1991 P-228,  another P-229, and now a third.

I saw those PD trade in P226s. I’m waiting for the P229s to hit again. I want a couple to set up with .357 Sig barrels. I have a few thousand rounds kicking around, it would be nice to have something to use it in.

I recently found used but in mint condition p220 carry Equinox in my LGS. Will be mine on June first. $725

As of crazy prices.......I am selling my like new p229, and when I see what other people are asking for their used 229s I just can't go lower than what they are asking. Hoping for potential buyer to compare what he can get for some $100 more and decide in my favor.....

Just before covid my p/t department (dispatcher) was switching from p220s to p320s. Managed to grab one with 13 mags and 100 rounds of duty ammo for $500.

Aluminum frame sa/da P Series Sigs rock!

We made the same switch in 2016, I paid $360 for 220ST and a 220R that only had a single magazine fire through it. I traded the ST for a 226 .40 and I kept the 220R. I have about 200 rounds of Winchester Ranger and about 10 magazines.

I would have bought 3 but I didn’t have the extra money at the time,I regret not buying my 4506 back in 05 when we switched to the 220ST but they wanted $30 a mag and we carried four extra magazines. That turned me and a lot of guys off and I never cared for the 2nd/3rd Gen smiths to begin with except for the 4006. If I would have known what those smiths would command now I would have about about 5 of them...
