Can not get the thread protector off my .45 tactical. It was only hand tightened on, ran about 50 rounds through it, now it wont come off. Any suggestions or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

You sure you're not turning it to the left, as it is the direction any sane person naturally tries to unscrew something?

+1 - it has reverse threads. Turn it clockwise.

IF IT IS stuck, put a few drops of Kroil down the inside edge of the thread protector and
let it sit for 1 hour. Kroil will loosten almost anything.

OK, now that you have turned it on really tight because you forgot that it has left handed threads, all is not lost.  Do the old freeze/heat trick.  Lots of people have been down this road so you are not alone.  Put the slide in the freezer for a few hours then take it out and hold the TP over a candle for just a few seconds to heat up the TP but not the barrel.  With a cloth to give you some grip it should turn off, but turn it the correct way this time, Lefty tighty, righty loosy.
