Could anyone tell me where I could get a thread protector for my Tactical, and about how much it will run me? I'm going to try to start carrying it to the range in a kydex holster, and I don't want to ruin the threads during my draw, even if it is a slim chance. Thanks in advance, all.

shipping is slow and expensive, but its a great peice, even has an internal O-ring to keep it from coming loose.

I have one on my Tac and MK23 and I love em.

Pricing is around 30 bucks.

I got mine from Larry at CCFA.  It actually got mine in exactly one week  and fits like a charm.  It also has an O-RIng inside it as well.  Here is the link.

You could also  try Mark McWillis at TROS.  His price is a bit cheaper too but doesn't have the O-RIng.

The ones from Advanced Armament and the factory ones from H&K are on back order for about 6 weeks or so.   CCFA has theirs in stock though.  Hope this helps.

Does anyone know if the thread protector interferes with fit into the holster? I'm specifically looking at getting a Safariland, probably a 6004 or 6005

It will ever so slightly.  Draw the gun from the holster about 50 times, and it will break in nicely.  The rough texture will chew out some of the suede lining, but it will still work just fine.
