Hello all, I’m getting my first 1911. Well actually my first handgun in a week with my tax refund so I have a few questions. I am getting a Springfield GI .45 1911-A1, but I don’t know what length to get. I would like to use it in IDPA. It seam’s that you can get them in 4", 1:16 LH, 5", 1:16 LH, and 5". Q#1 what length should I get? The next thing is the Grip’s. I think that it looks ok with the wood look but I think I’d rather have black maybe rubber grips. Q#2 Are there any good site’s out there? Q#3 what do I need to clean and brake down my 1911? And last this being my first handgun and all, Q#4 what or is there a proper “Brake In” I need to know of or do?
