The new Osight SE (Page 2 of 4)

He is a very smart, driven man and he will push Osight forward. I trust him and I trust his vision and attention to detail. I know this is tech and not GD, so I'm trying to keep it civil. But this is like GBRS and Sig. |

Osight will never have a reputation that Holosun has and that's 100% based on history of Olight and their shitty past. They could be churning out top of the line optics and weaponlights and they'll still have people that are suspicious of them. Just like all the glowing reviews of the new optic, after they gave away a bunch of them. Sketchy bullshit, just like when a gun company sends out free guns. BUT, a closed emitter $159 optic is great, if it lasts. But I'm not trusting a guntoober review. Even if they have never received a free item, they might say it's great, hoping they'll get free shit. So it's up to you guys. |

The fact that it has a replaceable battery instead of that recharging system is going to be a plus to most people. Somewhat related to the SCS, people like the SCS but don't like the fact that it does not have a replaceable power system. |

I don't own a single O-light brand product, have a few holosuns. Looking for a new RMSC footprint optic and will likely get the Osight SE based on the research I've done so far. It's amazing how some people can see the future so clearly, but can't see what's right in front of them. ![]() I would say the argument that Osight won't be successful because of brand image issues is a skewed perspective. The percentage of people that perceive Olight negatively is a smaller subset than you think. From interacting with people, the casual to moderate enthusiast buyer is completely unaware of any negative feelings towards olight. And they make up probably 90% of the market. It's effectively a non issue and nowhere in the realm of brand name issues that someone like Sig Sauer is currently having. So if they did truly knock this out of the park and reliability issues don't present, this absolutely will put quite a dent in the closed emitter market. And you will know this for sure when you see others dropping prices to compete. |

I also think its possible that some of the best made products came from last ditch efforts by companies to try and stay afloat. |
Doesn't mean that much to me to mean that much to you.

Olight is one of the largest flashlight manufacturers in the world, which makes it easier to find people who hate it for any number of reasons. The reality is that they stand behind their products with a lifetime warranty and fantastic customer service. They even have a group of advisors that they routinely ask product design questions and send out test products to; I am one of those people, and I am not compensated in any way for it so I can be unbiased. I have even flat out told them that some of the products they are developing are dumb and won't sell, or that they are muddying the waters by building too many similar products, trying to capture market share. This input is helping them to develop better products, and they have some very exciting stuff on the horizon. |

They give you free shit, you are absolutely compensated. It's one of the reasons there wasn't a single review with anything negative about the new optic. Because they sent out hundreds of these damn things for free to guntubers. So people have to buy them for themselves to find out if they're actually a decent product or if they're going to shit the bed quickly. |

I'm thinking of buying 2 of the SE models. I'm going to put one on a shotgun and see how it handles some hate. But so far I'm very happy with my 2. I can get 2 SE's for the price of 1 EPS Carry. Both made in Chyna. |

Most of it isn't free; I have had to buy at least 3 of the sights I have been testing, albeit at a 50% discount. That includes my early release sample of the Osight SE. |

Getting huge discounts for speaking favorably about a product IS GETTING COMPENSATED. This is some of the bullshit people hated about Olight from years ago and why they're not a trustworthy company. |

The only benefit would be button lockout. I'm sure Osight will add that feature. It hasn't been a problem for me. |

I wish I could get some true feedback on this optic on ARfcom. Reddit seems to be the only place not fighting over it. I think I might give the SE a try. It’s the first pistol dot I’ll be getting. I want to put it on a CZ P09 C Nocturne. What’s the battery life? |

The video I posted in the original post is David Chow, the head of Osight division talking about his new product. Yes, I have spent a lot of money on Olight stuff, but much of it was during double point months. I am not a dealer, I just give a lot of Olight stuff away as gifts. The I1R 2 Pro is a phenomenal keychain light and every one of my friends and family has one. I also own somewhere near a hundred guns and most of them wear weapon lights, many are from Olight, like the Javelot Tac, Warrior X4, Odin S , PL Pro and PL Turbo. My every day carry gun wears an Osight S and a TLR-7 X Sub. I practice with them often and I have experienced zero failures with my Osights, outside of the charging hood that I modified for my original Osight failing after I cut it to make it clear a rear sight. Many people thought I was shilling for Holosun back in 2015 when I recommended them every time someone asked for red dot recommendations. I still use many Holosun products, at last count I own over 40 of them, but for pistol dots I have almost exclusively switched to Osight and Vector Optics products as they offer more value for my money. Equipping what amounts to an entire armory gets expensive. |

Osight is now taking that even further. Ignore the guys who don't have one talking smack. They just don't know. Until they take that leap they won't. |

If you use the iron sights you still have a system to sight with. I’m just curious because I have never carried a handgun with an optic on it. This is my first adventure into this world and I think the Osight will be the sight I get. I really want some more real world feedback on the SE. YouTube videos are great but the forums is usually where the truth comes out. |

For anyone wanting to get the SE, I found(and snagged for myself) a good deal here: Link Then use coupon code OLIGHT20 $143.xx for me, shipped for the SE, Magpul sling swivel, and some tactical pen thing. Even better! |

Even better! Never heard of that website. I’ll look into it. I know GunDeals has a few places that price too. Heart of Texas has a coupon code. I believe it’s Osights. I am really tempted to try this sight out. I watched a video by Barrel and Hatchet last night about closed emitter optics. An Aimpoint ACRO had issues if fogging up inside. I think the Holosun had the same issue. It was when they went inside from being outside in the Florida heat goii ok not inside to cool temps. I wonder if the Osight SE would have that issue as well. |

Well, I bought a Osight SE. The SE's glass and dot sharpness is definitely better than my green Holosun ACSS. And miles better than my green Swampfox Sentinel II. Red dot glass being clearer than both green rds is really saying something about the quality of the SE. We'll see how well it holds up. |

I bought an Osight Se and mounted it on my CSX E-Series 3.6. Took it to the range and dialed it in. It ran fine and I was impressed by the clarity of the optics. But then I ran the last mag, and the circle got all fuzzy. After I got home, I looked at it more closely and it was drawing the circle like a Spirograph. I tried adjusting it, but it was simply moving the fuzzy circle around. Changing the battery didn't help either. So, I returned it for a refund and will be sticking with the 507K from now on. |
