| Ok, I just got the approval from corporate (aka: The Wife) to purchase a pistol. I'm looking for something small, and in .40. I have narowed it down I think to a Glock 27 or a Springfield XD Subcompact. I just can't make up my mind. I havn't fired the Springfield. No shops around here rent out guns. I owned a Glock 27 about 10 years ago. Too long ago, I do remember being paranoid about the lack of saftey. Flash forward to now, I have had plenty of experiance with pistols. I'm looking for owner opinions on each for accuracy, realiability, ect...... Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. FWIW, I did have a guy I know call the XD a "Glock w/ training wheels." I thought that was an odd statement. |

check this topic and the included links i provided in a post there:http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=5&f=4&t=66814
again, i'd opt for the Glock (in your case, the G27)––YMMV the only additional "safety" on the XD is the grip safety, which imo, is just about useless considering; your primary safeties are still your brain and your trigger finger |
| Welcome to AR15.com. You are about to get a thread filled with "get the glock" posts. They're both good and you really can't go wrong either way, though. Try to find someplace that rents guns...even if you have to drive a good long way to get there. Gas is cheap(er) right now, and you don't want to spend $500 on a gun you wind up not liking. |
