About how long does it take for Springfield to actually send out the pistols that have been ordered?
I know that the market's crazy and that there's a lot of demand, I'm not expecting anything miraculous by any means. I ordered my Loaded, Parkerized with N/S about 2 weeks ago, I'm just wondering about how long I have until I should expect the 1911 to arrive at my shop. |
| Correct or not I was told they wait to get a certain amount of orders for a particular model before they run that production line. I was looking for a Champion Operator and the dealer said he is still waiting on some springer 1911 models since late 08. I wasn't going to wait that long, I found a dealer on GunsAmerica with it in stock. |

How could it be taking that long for them to make a new [production level] pistol? They really need to ramp up their production, waiting a year is ridiculous! They probably don't want to invest in more equipment and employees. If that's the case, I can't say that I fault them - what would they do a year from now when demand might be back to pre-election levels? |

Would I be in the wrong to just go and find the same 1911 somewhere else and get my money back? I'm not sure I have the patience to wait for 9-11 months. See if you find something you like on GB or GA. I just looked on GA, and there are 60 Springfield 1911s listed. |

That's what I did late last year. I went to two different dealers and they literally laughed at me when I asked about ordering a Loaded. So I laughed at them when I took my business to a shop 2 hours away in the burbs of Chicago that had them sitting on the shelf. I actually bought 2 of them so their arrogance cost them transfer fees at the very least.
I suppose it would be a little different in your situation, but time is money and it's your time you'd be wasting by waiting for Springfield to build it. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
