Hey guys. Just curious what peoples thoughts/opinions are on the Springfield MC Operator vs. other 1911 manufacturers and models. Just trying to educate myself here. Thanks in advance for any input.

| I do not have one, but have read a lot of folks are happy with them. I spent a little more and went with the TRP. If they're still about a thousand bucks, for the same money I think I'd look awful hard at a Colt offering. However, I'd certainly take the MC operator over any Kimber, Ruger, Sig, or Remington 1911 of a comparable price. |

While I am an admitted Colt fan boy I would say my MC Operator is my second favorite 1911 to shoot only behind my Dan Wesson. Great gun and no issues with it. I'm not crazy about the green but I can live with it.
I think you will hard pressed to find anybody say anything bad about them. |
Get one, I love mine. All my Springfield's are better guns than the Kimbers I've had. Mine's the LW Operator, not the MC. Lots of guys on here have the MC and I think the general opinion of the gun is positive.
Only wish it came with a checkered front strap standard |

I just want to re-iterate what others have said. Don't sell your Grandfather's gun, you'll regret it... They make TRP/MC/LW Operators everyday - they're not making '43 RR models anymore

The TRP has the magwell and adjustable sights correct? Some TRP have adjustable sights, not all do. The railed TRP models have the adjustable sights. All TRPs do have magwells.
