| ive heard over the years that springfield made 2 versions of this weapon. one with the frame forged in the states and the other brazil. any one know which one is better or are they equal and why ? |

for the SA Loadeds, the older ones (like maybe 10yrs or so ago) all had US made forged frames(h/w, you might want to wait for someone like mr 'sgb' to confirm/correct me nowadays, they, like most of the production 1911s have brazil forged frames; the only US made SA 1911 frames are for the higher end, customs (like the Pro) both of are of quality manf and assembly imo, but if i had to choose, i would opt for the US one |
| TRP/Trophy Match and up have the USA fitted slide and frame. I cant remember it being any other way. I even think the old TM had Made in Brazil somewhere on them. Imbel makes good stuff, only difference is the ones not marked are handfit in Illinois the ones that are arent hand fit. |

All the forgings are Brazilian, coming from IMBEL. The primary production of current WWII, Milspec and Loaded models is Brazil. However Springfield sometimes suppliments these models on occasion with US production. The US produced guns will have a NM serial number prefix and are finish CNC'd here in the US by Springfield. The Brazilian made guns have two piece barrels and the US made guns have one piece US made barrels. The US made guns are better fit and finished. |
