What are your thoughts on the Springfield XD XD9810HCSP06 sub compact 9mm?  I am torn between purchasing one of these or a Glock 19 as a Xmas present to myself.  I would go with a .40, BUT, that will get expensive on the ammunition side since I already purchase 9mm and .45 ACP 500 to 1,000 rounds at a time.  Throw in the .40, and my wife will probably divorce me

Regarding the XD series, the only one that I have experience with is the full sized .45 ACP.  I had a chance to compare one recently to my Glock 21, and I must say I was impressed with the Springfield XD.  Picking the XD up for the first time, I was able to hit where I wanted to, whereas with the Glock, it took some additional training because the first time I ever shot one (a 17 that I owned in 1993), I hit way low.

I was just wondering what your experiences were with the sub compact 9mm from Springfield.

I have a sub 9 and must say that I love it, I switched from sub compact SA 1911 and don't miss it to much for a carry piece I get a lot more ammo for a better price and all the extras they give you holster and mag carrier and extra clip for High cap is a nice touch.

I got the henie night sites and they seem to be fine but get the pierce grip extention for 9 it will save you!

One more thing, do they handle +P and +P+ ammunition without any issues?

I have one and love it.  I like the fact that I have a light rail on it that I attach my light on during the wee hours of the morning.

Well, I feel bad because I elected to go the Glock route, yet again.  I purchased a G19 and will more than likely purchase a G26 in January or February.  The one thing that bugs me about the XD series is that it is too new.  I know it has been out for a while and it seems to be catching on like wildfire BUT I just could not bring myself to jump on the XD bandwagon.... YET

This question is for Max.

What light are you mounting to the gun? Is it the mini light from Springfield or some other light?

I have an M3 that I'm curious if it will fit on the XD9 I just ordered.

I have both, and I like my Glock a little better. The XD is a little bit easier to conceal just because it shorter. The 19 likes to stick its nose out sometimes.
Oh ya and I get 15 rds with the 19 as to 10 with the XD.

A 16 rounder fits nicely in the Subcompact 9.

According to an email I received from Sringfield, +P's and +P+'s are not an issue for this little shooter.

I will be stuffing it with +P+ 127gr Ranger T's.

If you ordered a subcompact, then no, it won't fit.  If you ordered the service or tactical, then yes, it will.
