i used to carry my springfield as a carry weapon untill i found that if i carry it for several months without shooting, and/or cleaning it that it would jam up trying to feed a new round.   I have since quit carrying this weapon because im not going to be able to remember to clean it weekly. and am afraid that if i ever need to use it it will fail me.      I replaced the recoil spring and magazines maybe 200 rounds ago.     what could be causing this?

I should also note that it wont feed hollow points either

i also noticed that when i insert a bullet into the chamber that it feels like the casing hangs abit .

here is where i feel it hanging up at

and some pics of the ramp its self

after serveral months all the oil used for lube went out of the gun.  Try some light grease ngl #1 or something like tw-25b, or ezzox.

+1 Try using a light grease. If the condition continues return it to SA for warranty.

See if the grease doesn't help that by making everything slide smoothly and not dragging on anything slowing things down when the round enters the barrel.  Also is that blazer or something similar?  I was looking at a round a IDPA competitor was using the other day and that is some terribly put together ammo.  The bullets are poorly copper washed and the crimp is less than satisfactory.

If your gun is stainless on stainless you need lube or you just may do some welding (galling).

The gun is all black, and im using wwb ammo.

i guess ill call SA and see what they have to say.    which number do i call?   just the one listed on their contact page?

*edit*  just tried lubing the feed ramp, and the casing still seems to catch slightly.   The reason i think its abnormal because there is zero catch when doing the same thing on my xd

You could polish feed ramp, breachface, and throat the chamber, but I would use a light coating of grease then some live fire.  I'm thinking your gun is/was just under lubed.

gets some jewerlers rouge and just take out the machine marks. You going to remove a verry small amout of metal.

SGB may have all that info linked in the FAQ, but the info is out on the web. I thin m1991.com or something.

if it's working fine with lube leave it the hell alone!! it doesn't "need" polishing.

I always polish the ramp and chamber on my semi autos. They feed ball and HP just fine. I took my new Micro and my used RIA to the range and had a few snags just like that. I had not done the polish job yet. I could tap the back of the slide and they both went into battery. The ammo that hung in both was PMI. No problem with WWB. I attribute both as not being shot enough for break in yet.

Mine was hanging like that. I polished the breechface and it never did it again. Must have had a burr on the breechface.

My God are those tool marks there from the factory?
Why has no one mentioned the tool marks? But those are
actually to bad to call tool marks. it looks like it was draged
down the road behind a car. If that come from SA? That is
the most pittyful barrel & ramp I have ever seen in my entire life.
Something is wrong with senario?
