Hey guys.

I've just bought a used EMP 9mm from the gun store. I have a couple of 1911's so I'm familiar with them in general, as far as the take-down and field strip goes. The gun did NOT come with the little plastic tool used to field-strip, but I can still take of the slide without it of course. Now my question, is it normal for the EMP to take quite a bit of effort to remove the slide once the slide stop is removed? It feels as if the fit is so tight, it isn't easily removed. My other 1911s do not have the same issue, the slides come off fairly easy.

Is this something I should have a gunsmith look at?

It's probably just the disconnector.

Does it function when the trigger is pulled? Yes = slide is not to tight. No = send gun to SA to be fixed.
