So the wife and I go to the gun show today and the Springfield EMP in a 9mm caught her eye.  She said she liked the gun. My thinking was its a little heavyer than the other guns we own and the added weight might help reduce the recoil.  So my question is you folks that own a EMP how do you like them? Is it a mild gun to shoot? Is it worth the $$$? It's going to take everything I got to keep from going back tomorrow a buying one tomorrow if it is as good of a gun as it seemed to be.

I love mine. It functions fine so far with any ammo I put through it. I think it shoots a lot better than my PM9. Check out the EMP thread over on 1911forum. I say go get it.
Here's mine.

I say BUY IT!  I have one and it is my primary carry gun.  Shoots great, low recoil, super accurate.  Definitely worth the money.

Well.... I went back to the gun show on Sunday, but resisted the urge to buy the EMP.  It was mainly because the two dealer that had one wouldn't bulge on price.  I felt I could obtain the gun online cheaper. So I looked around online all day (most of the day) reading up on feed back from other sites and trying to find a better deal on price.  I did find one online for less money, even after the shipping and transfer fees.  So I paid for it this morning and I hope it shipped out today.  Tomorrow I hope to be the proud owner of a Springfield EMP 9MM with the fancy grips!  I hope the wife will be excited and not throw me out. lol  Most importantly I hope she likes it and it shoots good for her.  Hey, I got a good excuse to go to the gun range this weekend If I don't have to work.

My wife loves the 9mm EMP.  I also love it.  I did have to send it back to get the extractor fixed.  It has been a little finicky on hollowpoints (runs FMJ all day no problems), and had to send it back for that.  Seems good, but need to run more hollowpoint before I feel comfortable using them.  Ovverall I really like it, and the wife really likes it.  Springfield cust service is top notch.  I"d buy one again, even with the issues I've had.

My Wife carries one also .. she loves the 1911 trigger and in a small compact frame that fits her hand.  Recoil is very manageable my wife is 5'2" and 105 lbs .  and she shoots it fine .. Although she loves shooting my kimber Eclipse also

I was handed one in Scheels once.  A .40 S&W.  I mean, the 1911 is the bomb when it comes to fitting a hand, but the EMP takes that and runs another first down.  It's not first on my list, but I woulnd't mind giving one a try.
