Went into the gun store today and found a used MC Operator for >$800 and snapped it up, already in love with this gun.  Have replaced the grips with VZs and the previous owner had already installed a 1 piece guide rod.  Is there anything else that is regularly swapped out on these? The only other thing I can think of is the Main Spring housing to remove the locking system which I dont like.  I cant find any issues with the gun, great fit and finish issues.

I love my MC. Only mod I did was VZ grips and replace the MSH. SO I think you already have all your bases covered. Enjoy!

The MC operator's are good to go, I would just swap out the MSH and go back to the GI guide rod and plug. Smith and Alexander has some nice one piece MSH, and so does Ed brown, but if ya really wanna step up, Nighthawk has an awesome one piece checkered MSH that i have on one of my 1911's. Maybe down the road you can upgrade the trigger/ignition parts with a nice set up from C&S/EGW/Harrison design. Other than that, you have a very nice pistol and enjoy.

I'd go back to a GI rod. My only mods have been a VZ grips, a solid Greider trigger, and a Guncrafter MSH with a recessed loop. Great pistol

Finally found a Wilson with a lanyard loop used as they have now discontinued them, seriously thinking about the guide rod but I dont have an issue with the 1 piece wilson

I much prefer field stripping a 1911 with GI rods over any style of full length guide rod.  Keep it simple.

Definately much easier that way and thinking of switching to the Flat spring options available from Wilson

Damn, $800? Nice! Every time I find one it's $1100. Cheapest used one I've seen was $1050 :/

I am a part timer at the store that I found it in so I get a break on anything that comes in (which is a detriment to paychecks LOL) but it would have been in the case for around $900 as a used gun,  The $800 figure included tax also.

Just bought one of these myself.  I can't seem to put it down.  For the moment, it's my favorite pistol that I own.  Congrats on a great gun at a great price.

Took it out today and put 150 rounds through it, it is an amazing gun, great to shoot and well worth the money.  Extremely happy.  Got in the new MSH and installed, now need to replace recoil spring and will be GTG.

Nice, I am also a part time gunshop goon. I got my MC on the pro-staff progam a few yrs ago and IIRC my price OTD was around $860 NIB. You did very well.

Have a Wilson flat recoil spring and plug on its way to test out in the gun

+100

I installed a GI (Wilson Bulletproof) in my TRP.
If the top of the line Professional doesn't need a full length to reach its accuracy, well I don't need one.

Shit son. Every time I come across them around here they're like $1200. Those are all new though. Haven't seen a used one around here yet.

.
This was the first one I ever saw and it only lasted about 2 hours in the case before I called and had it set back and picked it up the next day
