I have a S&W 696 44cal I would like to have the gun refinished in matte black, I'm not sure how the teflon type finishes would hold up on a revolver and the only other type of finish that is used on stainless steel is some kind of black oxide, not sure.

Has anyone done a refinish job on a revolver using either of these methods or something else?
