Anyone know how much and where I can find a P220 carry?  Any thoughts on this one vs 229 in 40 s&w? It will be used for backup/offduty weapon.  hippie.gif

Go here.

The prices from him are $699-$774

As for this being any better than a P229 I don't know. I have a P220 and P229 and find myself using the P220 on and off duty since I like the 45acp and the P220 has never given me single problem.

If you have to have .45 the 220 carry is obviously the way to go.

Other than that it's your preference with the standard tradeoffs, 220 is bigger with a smaller mag capacity, but of course its .45.  229, slightly smaller but you pack more .40 or .357 SIG depending on which barrel you have in at the time.

I have a 220 and a 229.  I've carried both of them.  I like both of them a lot.  They've both been absolutely reliable.

You can't go wrong with either, best advice is to get to a range rent one of each and shoot the crap out of it.  Decide for yourself what you like more, and go get it.  Later, buy the other one.

Ordnance Outsellers is the place to get one.

As far as size comparison, the barrel length is the same, the grip is longer, but thinner.  I think a P220C in single action would be a SWEET carry piece.

I carry a Sig 220 or 228 right now (after my VM2 arrives, the 220 will probably be carried more)and I am seriously looking forward to getting my hands on the 220C DAK (or better, the SAS version) when it comes out.  A smaller Sig .45 with a full size grip and consistent 5.5-6lb pull would be awesome.

I'm looking at buying either a P220 or a Colt Commander for carry, but haven't been able to decide yet.  Definitely interested in this thread.

I thought the P220 Carry was a standard 220 frame with a 3.9" barrel/slide assembly?

I'm a sucker for Commander sized handguns, so I think I'm in for one.

Also, Ordnance Outsellers doesn't list prices for their SIG's, and doesn't have the 220 Carry up. Does anyone happen to know what they charge for a P220 Carry two tone?
