Went to the range over the weekend and took my S&W 745 Tu-Tone. It is accurate, reliable and handles the .45 round easily. I shoot it better than any 1911 style I've tried. The blued slide and stainless frame with the wood grips really makes it a nice looking gun as well.

Anyone else got one? I picked mine up about 8 months ago for $400 NIB . I mostly just shoot UMC FMJ through it. It hasn't hiccuped on me yet. I really don't know why S&W stopped making this model.

Because they didn't sell. Rare is the gun mfgr who stops a well selling model.

The S&W 745 was superseded by the 4506. The 745 also appeared on the old TV show Miami Vice as Sonny Crocket's carry gun.
