I've got a Ruger P89 that might have a problem, but I'm not sure since I don't have access to another one to compare it to.

The issue is that when the slide is forward, I can move the barrel block (the part of the barrel accessible through the ejection port of the slide) side to side by perhaps 1/32" or so.   It is tighter with a round (or empty case) chambered, but it can still be moved.  The gun does function fine, except I'm lucky to be able to hit an 8.5"x11" piece of paper at 50'.

Any comments are appreciated....

Some of the early P89 had accuracy issues and it sounds like your's may be one of them.  Call Ruger.  In my experience they will try to take care of the problem.

Some movement is not unusual but it sounds like your's is a bit much.

I don't have that wiggle in mine, even though I have put 1500+ round through it.

And mine is pretty darn accurate.
