| The USGI\government model recoil spring rate is 16#. Will going to a stronger spring reduce felt recoil? What's the upper end for reliability with 230 ball ammo as far as the spring rate goes? TIA for any information. |

You can go to as high as 22 if you want. Although the slide returns home much faster and mimics a flatter shooting gun it is more violent.
I run a 14 in my .45, no shok buffs, no recoil master. Just spring and guide rod. It's very flat shooting. 12 is ok too, but a little harsh when the slide hits the frame. 16 is a great compromise. |
