Today I took out my new to me 2004 model Wilson CQB w/rail along with my 100 yrs of service Colt Commander 04691 to blast a few rounds and take a few pics. It was tough to bring myself to shoot up any of the ammo I've got on hand, but it was a pleasure and I'm glad I did it. Ammo used was all 230gr consisting of  Winchester White Box, Federal Premium 'law enforcement' HST JHP +P, and Winchester SXZ ' personal protection'. Mags were Wilson 47D, and guns were clean and lubed.

The weather was bad. Windy, snowing/ice pellets and around 31 degrees. I did not want to wear gloves for the loss of trigger feel, but when my hands went numb from the cold I realized that it did not matter, and I should have just worn them and been comfortable.  I was shooting offhand at 15ish to 20 yards. Wilson targets are shown on the left, Colt on the right

I loaded 4 mags for each pistol with the WWB for a warm up, and blasted happily with no failures or malfunctions through either pistol, with the Wilson putting shots predictably right on target with good grouping, and the Colt a bit to the right. Then I loaded one mag each of the Federal HST. Once again the Wilson showed that it was more badass than I was today, and the Colt was spread out a bit.

The Colt  did not like the HST ammo one bit and I had 3 different feed malfunctions illustrated below. One was a bullet nose dive to the bottom of the ramp, and 2 were tipped up into the barrel hood.

Next I loaded one mag each of the Winchester SXZ and took pics after  6 shot groups. Again, predictably the Wilson showed out with but one off target that I pulled, but the Colt was no slouch either. The Commander reliably puts shots to the right of where I aim, but nice and close together.

I then just started blasting indiscriminately with the rest of the WWB and had a good time trying to warm up my frozen aching hands- no need for pics of those targets.  I can say that the Wilson will shoot better than I can- and it can make ragged holes all day long with whatever you can afford to feed it.
I like my Colt and it has demonstrated better accuracy and reliability on better days, but those feed issues plague my mind.  Increased slide velocity due to +P ammo? Homoerotic limp grip on my part? Snow blowing into my eye?
This is my amateur range report and I realize that I really did not shoot enough to prove anything, and it's not to scientific- but I had a good time. Your mileage may vary.

Nice guns and nice shooting. I have 1991 Commander and it eats everything. I would check the extractor tension; looks like the rim of the case can't slip under the extractor. My Colt has still the Colt ramp and I'm not going to change that

Thanks! My Commander usually does to, except for the very first mag I shot had one similar malf several hundred rounds ago. I really like the gun, and I've been tempted to send it off to Wilson for a complete carry bevel and reliability package. It's got some real knife blade edges on it, and will take ribbons of leather off your favorite holster.
