I`ve been eye balling these for a while. Would like to know hat owners think of theirs.
Thanks |

I carried one for nearly 5 years, 2300 rds fired. Had two misfeeds at about the 400 rd mark and no problems after that. I put a series 70 firing pin in mine because every 50 - 100 rds it would go click instead of BANG. Narrowed the problem down to my grip on the gun, just couldn't get a reliable grip. After 1800 rds fired there were NO problems from replacing the firing pin only. There were no worn spots, scratches, drag marks, no nothing. It went BANG every time after the firing pin replacement.
Mine was extremely accurate, 6 out of 8 rds of the first mag fired went into a clover leaf with sides touching. Had two fliers that were my fault. On very good days I could do 5 shot groups into 1.5 in at 45 ft. My average was usually 5 shots into 3 in at 45 ft., not as steady as I was 20 years ago!! I used Wolff springs in my Kimber, they lasted longer between replacements. Used Wilson 47D mags with Wolff springs and they never failed me. Had to sell it to help pay some medical bills of my wife's otherwise I would still have it. |
| My NIB Pro Carry II is ejecting brass back at my forehead...pretty damn annoying. I haven't had the chance to tinker with the extractor yet, but I'll probably send it back to Kimber because I'd also like to get night sites installed. Other than the extraction issue, I think it's a very well balanced pistol and has gotten a lot of great reviews...which is why I decided to get one in the first place. |

I had the same problem as previous poster with spent brass to the forehead... which sucked. I loosened the extractor a tad and it shoots perfect now. how did you loosen the extractor? There are a few write ups on here. Basically just strip the gun and you have to manually bend the extractor arm (when i say bend i mean BARELY!) There is a great write up that I cant find at the moment but i'll look around for it. Look in the 1911 general section. |
