I'm looking into building my first 1911 in 9mm. I love the 1911 configuration and how it shoots. I have a Springfield Loaded 1911 .45 and love it but I want something alittle cheaper to shoot like the 9mm round. I was wondering is there much difference between .45 parts and 9mm parts. Anything special I need to keep an eye on and such. I have a Essex Arms Slide coming in the mail in a couple days so i guess the build is in the process.

Ever think of investing in reloading instead of a new pistol in a new caliber? After initial setup, you could easily punch out 50 rounds of .45 for substantially less than you can purchase 50 rounds of new manufacture 9mm. Just a suggestion.
