If you look at the pictures of Andrew’c_c’s and Combat Diver’s m17s from their new assignments above, I feel like in bad light especially from the bottom they would look way darker. |

The color variations aren’t surprising, but I find it interesting. My two “military production” pistols are much lighter in color and are a closer match to the SIG grip module color. Just from an esthetic standpoint, I like how the color matches. I noticed that the darkening on my slides is a film of grime that won’t wipe off with a rag, but if I rub it with my fingers, it comes off gradually, leaving the original lighter color underneath (like you can see on the top edges of the slides in these photos). I assume the SIG coating provides a rougher surface that the grime adheres to. Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Here is one of a pair XM-17 I have. I installed a sig romeo M-17 optic , designed specific for military m17 or m18 . (Psa, the xm17 rear sight ( original) will not fit in the romeo m-17 optic)  I added a pail light/ laser & a correct barrel to retain LCI And use with the suppressor as shown. Sig Sauer was kind enough to provide the correct rear sight that fits the romeo m-17 optic along with the single screw to mount it all.   Have a great New Year. Jp |

Here's the FOIA personal information redacted, As far as color of slides and frames. From what I have seen , the plastic keeps it's color through use longer than steel parts exposed. The rest is shadow and lighting / angle of photo. My pictures one of my pair of army m-17 issued. Notice slide/frame .same gun different angle/ lighting.    JP

Someone asked a few months ago about a duty holster for the M17 with a light. I think the thread was archived, so I thought I'd post this here. I came across one of my holsters the other day. This is a Safariland 7TS ALS 7379-4502 for the X300U or TLR-1 HL. They're affordable and seem durable enough, although not as tough as the much more expensive 6354RDS (which I'm using now with a Romeo-M17). I've used the equivalent 7TS model for the Glock 19 too, and they seem to hold up well enough. Admittedly, I've only used a 6378 holster (non-RDS Cordura wrapped) in the field, so I haven't abused these 7TS holsters, but it's an option for someone looking for a light holster. I'd prefer a 6378 light holster if not using an optic, but I don't think they make one for the M17 (or at least, I haven't been able to find a listing for one online). Attached File |

| I don’t know how to publish pictures. Classic Firearms did a tour of the Sig museum. There is a wall of I believe just US military contracts. On that wall for 2019 there was an interesting gun. It appeared to be a black x full but with what looked like a slide that was a hybrid of the x5 and xfull. I wonder if that was the DEVGRU gun. |

Thank You! Sig SWG….this one next please….. This slide would be amazing. I am a weirdo and have come to despise rear sights with a red dot. This slide would be extremely clean! As it stands now my favorite P320 slide is my contract overrun carry slide (based on the DEVGRU kit discussion, possibly their compact slide) because there is no Lci and no rear sight (legion style cut). |

All you need is the DPP and the Leupold DPP iron sight attachment. I have a P320 M17 with a DPP, but I installed the Galloway Precision rear sight insert along with a Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight. Attached File Attached File |

I recently finished a 2-day combat pistol course with my M18 with Brouwer 1811 grip and magwell. I was going to use one of my 19x's because its such a good pistol, but I went with the M18 instead to try the grip out. I needed to work on my grip at the start, because with the 1811 grip, I get such a high purchase on it I would sometimes hit the slide release on slide lock after an empty magazine. I needed to hold my shooting hand thumb alittle out so its not resting on it. But with the magwell its a considerable difference in reload speed under pressure for me. Doesnt matter what angle you insert the magazine, the magwell guides it straight up and in. The grip really is a big difference. Its comfortable, I can shoot all day with it and it points straight. Not one issue in alittle over 800rds. I also used my M17 the last half of the last day with no issues as well. I will say the Align tactical offset mag release black finish is already wearing off, but I guess that can be alittle expected.  |

Thank you for introducing me to the Brouwer grip in this thread….I now have six (though two of mine were “borrowed” by two of my best friends who are issued the m18xle bravo at their department). The guys at Brouwer are cool too. After the last time I ordered they sent me a thank you email and I gave this thread and you specifically credit for the introduction to their company. |
